A flanker is a player in American football who lines up behind the offensive line, usually on the outside, and is part of the receiving group. They can either catch passes or run with the ball. The flanker’s role is to create opportunities by running routes to get open for the quarterback to throw the ball to. They are often quick and agile, helping the team move the ball forward and score.
